Let Love Shine

I have been meaning to post this post for a while but have not had the time to finish it. But here it is. We are in the second week of Advent and thus we are preparing for the coming of Jesus. One of the messages that often comes up during the time before Christmas is the message of love. It is wonderful because everyone gets into the spirit of love and kindness. I believe that this is the spirit of love that God wishes us to express every day not just during December.

I was raised on the belief that we are all loved by God. That we are all equals because in God's eyes we are all perfect. No matter what. He loves us unconditionally. With that belief at the center of my life I try to go out into the world and love as Jesus does. I hope that you will look at the following bible verses and reflect on them. Take them to heart and go forth into the world with love. Let us start with one of the most popular bible verses John 3:16. Personally, I think it is not complete with out 3:17, so i'll add that in there. Please take the time to reflect on these passages and share them with others.

"For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him." John 3:16-17

"Beloved, let us love one another, because love is of God; everyone who loves is begotten by God and knows God." 1 John 4:7

"So humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time, Cast all you worries upon him because he cares for you." 1 Peter 5:6-7

"Love is patient, love is kind. It is not jealous, Love is not pompous, it is not inflated, it is not rude, it does not seek its own interests, it is not quick-tempered, it does not brood over injury, it does not rejoice over wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things." 1 Corinthians 13:7-14

I leave you with the last verse because I think it is has a lot of power and significance given current events. I encourage you to love. Care for the world as God cares for it. Despite your own frustrations and difficulties. Through love, you will come to care for others and they will come to care for you. We will find a world that cares more and more. Choose love. I believe that if you choose love, you can do no wrong.

Be The Light
